|
|
I know that the game pretty much balances these things out themselves, but I was wondering if maybe a visible list of the number of active race/classes would be a good idea. I know that this information would influence my decision to choose race/class if I knew that AR lacked something a lot, because it seems like it'd be more fun that way, and I kinda like to choose something thats not the flavor of the month anyway, before making a char and then noticing after 10 levels that its already overused(only exception to this would be human). Maybe when you go to character create screen.
Also, currently when you create a character, if you want to get a random generated list from the mud itself, you need to just put any name in and say no. is there a keyword or something to instantly create this list? |

You mean like a population sort of thing?
Total pfiles = 1663
avian:102
drow:195
duergar:57
dwarf:78
elf:168
fire:66
gnome:42
half-elf: 149
halfling:69
human:463
illithid:24
minotaur:47
slith:62
stone:36
storm:42
werebeast:63
Warrior:288
Berserker:179
Ranger:163
Paladin:115
Dark-Knight:123
Thief:137
Ninja:122
Monk:82
Invoker:114
Illusionist:65
Necromancer:51
Healer:95
Shaman:71
Bard:49
Druid:7
Keep in mind these stats are stuffed with the garbage newbies people make, human warriors and elves being most affected. |

yeah that might not be so useful. Perhaps for the purpose of activeness )solely for this application, where it doesnt affect anything else like rares or cabals), it could be defined as logging in once a week or at least 5 times a month or something to reduce inaccuracy from garbage characters. Although its still interesting to look at the way it is. |

A recent conversation I witnessed prompted me to rethink this.

Iyuri NEWBIE chats: 'Bard.'

Iyuri NEWBIE chats: 'No.. necro, hehe.'

Iyuri NEWBIE chats: 'Actually been a few bards since the half-elf legacies came out.'

Sayrad NEWBIE chats: 'Are thiefs any good.'

Perhaps a system could be developed where a person must sign in at least 3 times a week, or for 5 hours a week, whichever comes first, before they are counted in as part of the currently used class/race combo, then this information could be represented as a chart like this
X Warrior Thief Invoker
Human 20 10 4
Elf 5 5 5
Drow 5 5 5
This would appear after you create a name for your new character and finalize it, right before the race selection. Any thoughts?
Eh, dunno why but my graph got screwed up even though it looks neatly lined up when I'm writing the message, after posting it gets shortened down to 1 space between the letters and numbers. |
