can an illusionist hide from a player and cause mobs too say things directed at that player? who would a character like that be able too rp with?

Invisibility and Ventriloquate? Illusionists can also make exact copies of lots of mobs with their Duplicate spell.

If you're asking about ideas on how to make illusions look more realistic "in game" well... I'd say have them do random emotes. (Rare, as not to spam the room with clutter). This gives them a "personality", for example illusions would have special emotes like "The triton watchman looks to <illusionist> for his next command", or "The translucent gnoll turns his head from left to right."

As far as presentation maybe change it from the obvious "Illusion of X is here." to "A mirriored X is here." or "The figure of X is here."

Just because you haven't fooled anyone with ventriloquate Vhrael, doesnt mean nobody can. Its a fun way to mess with newbs.

I wasn't saying it can't be done... but if you're a "supremely powerful illusionist" and you fail ventriloquate even if it's mastered, it makes you look stupid.

I'm just trying to bring up points to help immersion. I realize it's "possible" to do, but it's not a reliable RP device.

I am really good at rp with an illusionist, sure I was bummed that haste got gimped (not to mention the lag added to the gate spell) but with the addition of hob spark my favorite guild is not being overlooked. Yes illusionist run if you attack them only stupid people stand there and die it is not being weak it is being smart. Unlike some classes an illusionist needs to start the fight to have a chance of winning. My favorite thing for ventriloquate is Death says, "Sorry Grayden but your time is up" ////very important if you use the spell as death and screw with people you will lose the spell.//// and if you read all this you have too much exta time.

When I play my illusionist i would rather sit and talk than fight but them dumb Legions keep attacking me illus vs illus *sighs* well being a pure neutral illusionist is fun to rp with you dont have to fight any one most of the time as long as you buy protection and always offer to train with the knights when the Legions are not around......

With an illusionist rp style, you should always strive for mastering your spells, it is a huge factor, Like my lv 45 illusionist is better than most in the realms because of one thing, he has some key spells and skills at 100, once you get to a certin level you will know what skills and spells I am talking about.....
