I always thought it was odd that they lost divine might against unprotected targets (which is the majority of people you'll end up fighting).

Anyway, its been awhile since I've had one but I'd expect paladins to still be decent. I'd attempt one the same style I used to do, which is charge and flee/murders instead of wrath, conserving all mana for a few buffs, and mostly running around and healing (though wrath sounds perfectly fine, especially if used just to get a curse off).

I'd assume theres more of an expectation to draw the fight out more.. maybe even do those gimpy invoker tactics here or there like run around on water and high movement areas, run around and waste enemy purples while scanning to potshot them, etc.

Ramming away at flee/murders or charges coupled with lots of run and heals should keep one in contention, I think. That and some hit/dam. Naturally shamans are never going to be easy. Warrior type abducting or confining you should be far worse as well, basically guaranteed death. /Shrug.

and doesnt the caster trick of burning someones purple inventory work anymore?

as for shamans, curse = gimp warrior. if you cant land it, because they got the malsave(which should severly gimp their damroll), or you dont have the savebreak, run away and get different eq.

of course if you are working at skirmishing a shaman really well, and you time it so his weapon ward has to be recast, and he is too focused on trying to attack you so he doesnt recast, then you just strike of faith.

so back to the question.

paladins are hybrids, not so strong in warrior like qualities, no hellstream or mega cure, but definitely still curing, wrath, and sanc.

you need to damroll high, lag him whenever possible with sideswipe, trip, bash, etc.

they will have lower health than you, and are worse on defenses. then you just get what you need to bypass the rest of their defenses. shield block is beat with axe, parry and set parry is beat with hitroll. plus axe is a foreign weapon type to paladin. that and get yourself some purple potions to reduce his wrath damage when you fail to lag him. once he starts to run stay hard on his ass so he cant heal, mt him, skirmish him when he gets a wrath off. that about does it.

evil is a hard route to take. you either learn really quick or get frustrated. I did both in the opposite order.

Actually, I played a paladin right after the change and killed a well equipped decent shaman (Rolf), the secret is catching them with their pants down, catching them with weapon ward down and getting a strike of faith in to curse them can work wonders. But I accept your challenge dav, when im done with my current char i'll go pally again.

You know its ironic that paladins are a class that people play for mudsex with. Because a paladin isn't a class that you need hope to catch with its pants down. A paladin literally walks with his pants down all the time.
