I'm not complaining. If and when it comes to light that I can't compete unless I use the aforementioned gizmos, I'll give them a try. |

Knowing the areas by heart is by far the single most important aspect of pking/being pked. You can get out of bad situations if needed and you will almost always win against a lesser opponent if you run better. This is the #1 reason why I've always failed miserably at pking. I've always figured out the best strategies in combat but it's useless when you can engage the enemy in sufficient time or chase them down when they are at awful. This is the actual reason why I brought up flee/murder in another thread. With pure running skills like Kalist possess, he can probably flee/murder you to death without even thinking about anything else. The auto-mapper is good but sadly it limits you if you try to always rely on it. The nano second that you peeked at the map to figure out where to go next means you are that much further behind the elite players. With AR's parity in classes, that few nano seconds typically determines who wins and who loses. If you watched the logs posted by Slade, you will see that he can move away from his prey a few spaces more than another player because he knows he can get back to that guy in roughly the same amount of time. He knows the areas by heart. If you don't then you can only go as far as you are comfortable with and possibly missing out on an important round such as prey's sanc going down etc. |

Automapper nerf was done intentionally to lower the average players ability to run away. |

Yeah, I think running away SHOULD be something only the vet characters can do well. It takes practice. It isn't something that you should just be able to do fresh outta the gates ya know? I think scripts and stuff are lame and stupid, but if you use them, then whatever, use them. I just think it's lame to take the skill and quick thinking and speed away and make it just computer smarts, nerdy, geeky writing scripts at your own pace as slow as you want kinda thing. And it makes a difference that I couldn't write my own. Ever. But like I said, if you gotta do it, do it. |
