does the luck change affect items you can request? there items you can request that are above your level. example - platinum shield is 30, you can request it at 25.
also, what about items that are above rank 50. order stuff, xel morak, etc.
just curious. |

Well yeah, if the item is higher than your level, its going to mess with your luck.
One thing I would point out about warriors, for you to think about, is consider a warrior at level 30 in full red dragon/red claw/whatever, with some decent weapon. You are basically guaranteed to hit at least dismembers, sometimes massacres. This is what, 60-75 hp a shot? This is enough to kill level 50 characters in 10-15 clean hits. A warrior can put that out in 5 rounds. But that's at level 30, and the hp is way less. You can end fights in half that number of hits. Unless they're similarly geared and sanced (which they usually are), other players at the level definitely wouldn't put up much of a fight.......... now imagine if that warrior was wearing a bunch of 3 dam, 2/2 type rares, so that he has a 50 damroll instead of a 25 damroll. that hits mangles-demolishes, or around 100 hp per shot, and it will 4 round anyone. Its just like having the red dragon at level 15 with claymore. It puts you into god mode, since you essentially have slay at that point. Times proven that this is a negative thing.
That's been the problem with ultimate hit/dam gear like the Order shit and spiked light steel gauntlets, stetson, the ruby hitled dagger and that kind of crap... it'll turn a warrior class into a complete wrecking ball of damage output. That is actually as true at level 50 as much as it is at level 30, besides people probably having parry trained a bit. Levelling from 30-50 gaining 12 hp levels (and some trains) will add about 300 hp, which means you'll only survive 2 rounds longer. That's what, 1 more bash? Which you can't avoid if they have given you a dirt, hobble? I am very sure that the fun one player has with these items in low levels is FAR outweighed by the misery it inflicts on the rest of the playerbase.
It is good to have players pk'ing in non-rares at 30... it allows us to see how well each class does on an even playing field. Not all the big spells are out yet, but the damage to base hp ratio is a good measuring stick against level 50 w/ rares+set. Of course, to go beyond those levels into the high ranks, you'll want to start wearing sets, and that's fine. Once the eq gets absurd enough, you have to literally gangbang them to relieve them of their rares, which is back to being like the level 15 red dragon + claymore problem, except that its rares, so you can end it almost permanently by just taking it from them saccing it. It isnt like they can just run off and multi some more eq.
It seem interesting to have items that are higher than 50, especially stuff like the nimbus of power which is really nuts. |
