Legion protection will now be free of charge.
Purchasing protection will not send money to the Legion cabal coffer.
Murdering a protected will cause the offender to become CONTRACTED.
Killing a murderer will not send money to the cabal coffer.
Hits may still be purchased at Vinnie.
Fulfilling a hit will function as it always has.

So this is the process as I've understood it:
1. buying protection
- You can take 'protection' for free
- Dying protected results in a contract on the guy who killed you
(No change besides protection is "free")
2. collecting contracts
- Collecting a contract on protected has no reward
- Collected a contract that has been paid for will pay out.
So it means the method of turning 10k gold into 200k gold + somebody died is eliminated, without gimping the Legion skills.
I didn't care about anything else I heard as a non-Legion non-protected guy. |

Counts will also give out the same sort of contract that a Protected would, although a Count will not have to renew his protection once per week. |

I think someone forgot to tell Vinnie that protection is now free of charge. |

I tired buying protection from Vinnie the other day and he wouldn't sell it to me. Do we purchase it elsewhere now? |

The old buy protection and get killed so legion gets 100k was cheesy, but usually there's a reason behind it, such as the fact that the person with the flag was usually a worldwide terror.
The only time I recall legion having perma-max money was during Ygin.
I'd like to see actually buying contracts on people a little more accessible. if someone is big and bad enough to warrant wanting to shell out 100k+ to contract them, which in itself is just a chance of them dying, then it's likely easier to eat a death under protection and get the guy killed the same way.
Does anyone actually use contracting?
I feel like the change could've been simply to reduce the collected gold for legion to something like 5k, so Vinnie gets half, Legion gets the other half. It obviously didn't make sense to spawn 100k out of a 10k buy, but it also doesn't make sense that Legion would protect anyone for free. Are they turning into Lightwalkers? |

When I was Forsaken, I never collected a single contract that offered me 100k. Maybe I was doing it wrong but usually I got in the 20k's. |
