I was just thinking while oddly enough talking to a friend about bards in D&D. In D&D there is a feat called Snowflake Wardance, where it allows the bard to apply their charisma to more or less rhythmically float around the battlefield and attack with slashing weapons much better than normal.
Now to that made me think, since bards are now no longer under the RP only, wouldn't it be easier for them to have a bit of an edge in fighting considering their rather 'stellar' weapon choices of swords, daggers, staff or exotics. This is something I'm thinking that could go along with quick draw for them or such, where the bard is able to go into a type of riposte for them, where it requires them to have weapon style superiority or combat style, whichever makes it easier. But I was thinking more so of a dodging mechanic than parry, kind of how when you're fighting Sherman and he starts juggling it gets harder to land hits on him.
I'm just putting this out there because bards only have one weapon skill, uncanny attack, and other than their songs that deal damage, Four Seasons, Sharp Discord and Clash of Titans, are area damage songs. So they only have kick and uppercut to do damage with in a fight without relying on their already precious mana pool. |

Throw can be pretty badass. That doesn't take mana. But I agree about that shitty weapon selection. Interesting idea. |

Throw use to be much cooler for a bard, when you could throw a full house, a royal flush, a straight, a pair, and it all did damage accordingly. |

So is this thread still valid? Since the OP did not mention they have throw. |

I knew they had throw, but they don't throw house suits anymore, not that I knew of. Last time I saw a bard throw from their edge crafted cards it was a single card with shitty damage.
RE: they still throw a 'hand' and damage is based on that.

A limited weapon selection does not really hurt bards. They have great skills and songs that border on cheese. |

Kapruski have you even played a bard at 50? Can you name one bard that has repeatedly hosed anyone? Bards are gimmicky and get raped by their limited weapon selection against warriors and rogues. |

I wouldn't call bards OP by any means, but they have enough songs to pk effectively. mainly devil's dance makes me angry...lullaby can be annoying if it's useed to wait out aura. |
