Cleave?

Is cleave good and what does it do? Also is it like a one hit kill and does it hit alot?

Cleave is a starting attack somewhat like assassinate--it has a chance for a one hit kill, and if it doesnt kill off the bat it will do some damage. I cant speak for the coding numbers, but it seems to hit a lot less than assassinate--a dark knight would be lucky to get one or two cleaves off on another character in a lifetime.
Because of that, I personally dont bother practicing it--there are several other options for a dark knight that I would prefer to use starting a fight. However, I also dont practice charge with any of my characters, and some people swear by that skill, so use your own judgement.

have you tried reading "help cleave" on the MUD? We have the helpfiles so that we don't have to keep answering the same questions. You can imagine the chaos if we had to reply to forum posts every time someone had a question about what a skill did. Please try the helpfile first, and then experiment with the skill, before you post to ask about what the skill does.

When you try a class for the first time, practice every single skill/spell, even the ones other people consider useless and decide for yourself their merits.

There is a lot of rumor and false myths flying around (always have been) so it is always better to experiment youself and discover your own tatics/stategics. Log your fights to analyse later. A lot of the most successful players in the past learned their tecnhiques this way rather than blindly trusting other players.
