rares disappearing

Can an Imm help explain this.

While I was play...when I logged on I had ice staff and Mahn-tors axe, but while I was still playing they disappear. The same thing happened to another rare weapon that I was carring. I dont remember seeing a thief in my pk range, and if there were then props to him because he never came out of hiding, but can someone help explain this to me. I am not bitching because equipment doesnt really mean that much to me just confused.

I have my logs but havent looked at them yet.

Rares purge if you havent played enough in the month. That is to keep them in circulation. They will purge whether you are logged in at the time or not - its scripted as a background process.

They might have been stolen from you.

If they were stolen from me then thats was one hell of a thief because I rarely sleep with that character.

I know about rares being purged near the end or begining or each month, but I suspect that this character was on enough not to be purged, but regardless if it was a rare purge I would have lost all me rares and I didnt. I just lost the rares that I had in my inventory and not the ones I was wearing.

I look through my log for that day and didnt see crap.
