I was recently playing a character with two rangers who were pooring out their pockets on javelins as their main skill to damage in battle is volley at their ranks. The question popped into my head as to what the harm in allowing rangers when they gain carving skills to carve either arrows or javelins? I know the big thing that jumps to mind is carving a few icicles into javelins will really mess up a fire giant and the same for other vulns. But I know you can get ice arrows and others of the sort from stores or mobs. I am unaware of being able to get ice javelins from mobs but I was thinking about the javelin carving skill as you are a ranger and can carve arrows which imo would be more difficult? Just a though. |

"Carve" allows easy access to the magical damage types, i.e. vulns. This is very potent. Because javelins are used with a defensive combat style, it isn't a function we want to give them so easily. Its pk-gameplay reasons. I believe you can buy those things quite cheaply from the ranger lord in the emerald forest. |

Understood. At first thought it was a good idea in my head but I got to thinking about it and that is where I think my idea went wrong. |
