- There is a discussion going on in a forum that players are unable to post on, but are able to read. I thought I'd pull it over here.
To be honest, with the lack of flame strike, or another blinding type spell, I see Paladin's needing something like this. Shield slam is effectively useless, except for Jotuns.
Also - I have been on the distributing and receiving side of this. If you know how to run, IE not in a straight damn line, you will survive. If you decide you want to try and gun it a single direction, you deserve to get a polearm up the ass. It is very easy to avoid if, just like any other time, you are aware of your surroundings and flee appropriately. |

What exactly IS charge direction? You run across multiple rooms charging as you go? Haven't seen it. |

In this instance, paladins can charge over 6 rooms in any direction. This is used as a pursuit tactic. This balances out a lack of effective lagging (trip, bash) or blinding (dirt, blind). There are downfalls, which were not mentioned in the above citation.
No charging on water.
No same room charging unless errant.
Charging into a door knocks you out for six hours.
Missing someone ensures their survival, because of a huge amount of lag. |

It should cost a lot more move per room too, and prevent errantry for like 6 ticks. Then I'd like it. Seems cheese to be able to spam it with infinite moves though. Why not let mages and clerics get hit by this? Just with a murder attack instead of charge. They have word, so its not going to be wildly OP against them. |

There is a move reduction, which is normal. When it was originally built it was cheese, because there was no lag on the charge. Now the lag time is massive. Big enough that if there is a miss, or even if it doesn't kill them they are going to get away fairly easily. This was and is just a finishing move for paladins.
Oh and this charge can be used while errant. It's just that a normal charge is prevented if you aren't errant, which was a part of this change. |

Hardly a double post. I was clarifying. I've not heard a cogent argument as to why it should be gimped, considering the previous decided lack of finishing abilities Paladin's have. This isn't dirt kick, it doesn't go through weapon ward and it doesn't lag unless you are flying or spamming. It's entirely avoidable. |

My double post faelon, not yours. I think that skill sounds neat. Flee at awful? Be aware or die. Sounds like its already got some tight controls on it. But then, none of us know exactly what Thorgoth's problem WAS with it. |

For your info this skill was touched up a tad.
You can now whiff charges and will go flying out of control if you miss/are shield blocked.
Still just as good if you land one, but be careful you don't TKO yourself on a wall. (Yes that can really happen) |

There should be a chance of TKO with the 'wtf' emote. |
