What spells and skills are the most useful for them and what do they do?
Wrath?
Flamestrike?
Divinmight?
Crusade?
Lay on hands?
Heroism?
I have read the helpfiles too so do not jump on me for it. |

FUcking a man... the only reason people who know the answer know is cuz they know that to know you must learn and shit by yourself. QUIT asking Stupid FUcking questions that you can learn on your own. Try shit out, die, whine to immortals, repeat. Simple as that. Take mullet as an example, he writes bullshit, but at least his flames don't piss me off. |

Holy crap.... speaking of mullet, I did a double-take when reading who just posted that...
Clif, you've been on the receiving-end of too many of mullet's flames... you two need to kiss and make up or shake hands or something. He's rubbin' off on you... |

Naw, this is my one big pet peeve. Ask gramps or Blood Daemon, I'd be glad to give hints, but I hate telling people where the fuck everything is and how to fucking do everything... it's like being lazy and rewarded for it. What the fuck, ya know? |

Eh, true... guess I see your point there...
Monk, honestly I think you should try and take these same questions and ask them in-game, in-character. Type 'who group,' then find two other people and go exploring. They might know where the things are that you're looking for, or they might know how a skill works that you're curious about.
If everybody that had any questions about skills/items/places/races/classes/etc., asked them ALL here, the forum would get more attention than the game does. Half the fun is going out and figuring things out for yourself. The great thing about MUDs is that you're not 'really' there. If you fall into a trap and are stuck, big deal. Either recall, get summoned out, or die if you don't have any other option. Worst-case scenario, you lose some of your equipment and a bit of experience. Wah... |

Wrath?
Damage on one target, may curse.
Flamestrike?
Damage on all targets fighting you, may blind.
Divinmight?
Adds hr/dr and luck. Or something.
Crusade?
Can't group, adds hr/dr. Or something.
Lay on hands?
Who knows, some kind of healing.
Heroism?
Don't know. Probably adds hr/dr. Or something. |

Also try looking around the webpage at the various essays that are written about different classes and such. If I recall, there is a good one or two about paladins, and those essays will often explain what certain spells do and so forth.
I'll phrase it nicer than the others who responded, but really the best way to figure those things out is to just play the class for a while. That way you not only find out the skills that are best for the class, but also the ones you yourself like to use. Take illusionists for example--everyone uses duplicate and haste, but some people like feeblemind, others shrink, others slow, and so forth. Play a few characters of the same class--each time you will get better, and find out what skills you personally like to use. |

Im famous. I come up in every damn subject even thoh I am not apart of them! Yay! But the best way to do something is in fact to do it. If that makes any sense. You figure stuff out and you get better at the game when you do stuff yourself. Stephen2...Dude...or something followed half your answers. Hahah. |

The best thing about a MUD like AR is that it's free. (Sorry Burzuk... )
You're not pumping quarters into an arcade game, so if you want to try a new character it's not like you have anything invested other than your time. Don't be afraid to experiment and try two or three characters of the same class or race or whatever. You'll only find out what you really like by playing different combos. |

That's okay, I have gimps to kick around, and Clesa and Lydana to attend to me hand, foot, and other places. It's good to be the king. |

Hah!! Gimps...
Why do I get the feeling that the 'power' social command is one of your all-time favorites, Burzuk? |

I have no problem with answering what questions I can for newbs, because I remember being a newb and I know what it can be like whan ass holes give you answers you dont like. Then again sometimes the best knowledge is first hand knowledge.
As for your question,
Divine Might gives you a certain amount of Hit/Dam in exchange for hit points. (read the help file for specifics)
Crusade will work if you are leading a group, grants luck and mal protections(I think)
Heroism amplifies the damage from Wrath. (which is cool, but you are going to have to be alone as it will ungroup you or make you ungrouable for the duration)
Wrath is massive damage against evils, very handy yet it has a longer lag then other spells. (want to know how long? Name of Paladin, Rank, Co Wrath.) May curse opponent.
Flamestrike is some what damaging, will attempt to blind and will strike anyone attempting to harm you. Seriously handy if mastered and you have three people attacking. Atleast for a try or two before they start dispeling you or bashing you to death. |
