I hate dirt kick. Not the skill itself. Just the RP idea of dirt kick. How stupid is it that the majority of all battles in AR are determined by kicking up clouds of dust? I'm pretty sure I've never seen any battles in LOTR, or frankly, any movie for that matter, where the people fighting repeatedly scuff up clouds of dust to win. I mean think about it. It's so stupid. I can't take a battle seriously when they're just giant boot-scuffing fests.
So, I think it should be replaced. Here's my idea. The daze skill. Big old whack to the noggin to daze a person.
<300hp 100mana 100mv>
Bob's dazing blow wounds you.
You start seeing double.
<290hp 100mana 100mv> wield sword
You are too dazed to do that.
<290hp 100mana 100mv> flee
You flee from combat!
You stumble on your face in your dazed confusion.
Basically, when dazed..
You gain a penalty to combat
You can't pick up items or target items in your inventory
You can't target right
You stumble when fleeing.
So in otherwords it would be pretty much the same as dirt kick. Just.. less stupid. |

Ok, how about replacing dirt kicking with my called spit shot.
Bob spits in your eye.
You cannot see.
You wipe spit from your eye.
You spit in Bob's eye.
ok eye gouge was much better, but if you dont like dirt, let the spit fly.

i dislike dirt kick because it totally destroys the balance in some fights while it doesn't help at all in other fights. especially when its a bread and butter skill, spam in, make or break skill. |

My thoughts on dirt kick would be that it should only last an extremely short amount of time. It wouldn't take that long to rub dirt out of your eyes. And besides, what are you doing in the mean time? If it was me I'd attempt to rub it out imediatly, not let it sit there awhile. Anyhoo, the daze thing sounds fine as long as it is identical to dirt. Just called something different. There's my two cents. |

The skill effects would have to stay the same, dirt kick is too deeply embedded in combat balance.
As for renaming it, yeah, nothing wrong with that. In fact different classes could get different things, you could rename bards dirt kick back to eye gouge (remember, all effects stay the same for all of these). Thief/ninja could maybe retain dirt kick. Warrior types would get renamed daze, whatever, and so on. |

They tend to to be very against classes have carbon copy skills under the same names. Look at psi and druids. |
