Protection can be bought in Darkhaven. Entering protection creates an
agreement between the client and Darkhaven's most powerful organisation,
the Legion of Darkness. While protected, a person has bought immunity
from attacks from the Legion, and in addition, if a protected person
is killed, the Legion of Darkness shall ensure the death is avenged.
Protection holds as long as these two conditions are sustained:
1) A protected person must NEVER attack another protected person.
Failure to observe either of these terms will result in the revoking
of the Legion's protection, and one of the most barbaric murders that
the lands shall ever see.
Protection is not permanent - weekly visits to Vinnie shall be needed
to keep protection active. Anybody who fails or refuses to purchase
Legion's protection is considered to be at war with the Legion, for they
are uncooperative to the cause of peace under Legion's supreme rule.

Tell me, _Clifton_, where does it say in there that you may be required to surrender equipment, or gold, to Legion members in order to stay protected?
I'm not saying that it's totally unacceptable that this would be the case, I just think that since it is the case one should be notified of such in the helpfile/when buying protection. |

Giving up eq to gain the backup of an entire cabal is a pretty good trade. |
True, but you give them gold for that purpose. I am in no way claiming, by the way, that a legionaire is expected to be a 'bodyguard' for someone paying. On the other hand, you pay for them not to kill you and take all your equipment and your gold. You don't pay them to learn that your gold was wasted on an idiot who is more greedy than he is intelligent. I would never pay for this protection, but I know that were I doing so it would definatly cease if some knucklehead came after me for eq after payment. |

Okay, I gotta question. If you get flagged for killing any citizen of valour, then what the hell is the point of the nobles. Haven't you kinda coded them outta the loop now? I mean other then sitting there looking pretty I think it's pretty lame now to be a noble Cause I thought nobles were the ones supposed to flag down people.. now what do they do. |

No because its for KILLS. Nobles can flag for attacks, and nobody wants to die. Also, its for UNCABALLED pkillers. It does not stop Legion from stomping you without a noble around, but it does make an average aggressive guy think twice before reaming Valour's Lightwalkers. Uncaballed aggressive neutrals are a perfect example of who's doing that.
I will acknowledge that it might not work perfectly - remember if it doesn't work out we can always remove it. |

Ah. Thanks for the clarification. As for caballed characters like Legionnaires, they won't get flagged for killing lightwalkers then? |
