I am not sure how the code works, but it seems that strike of faith might have something wrong with it. Using it against mobs it will always land but that it not the case for fighting players. When I am fighting communer or spell caster it will land if there protective shield fails, however it almost never lands on warriors, serkers, or rogues. Is this intented to be this way or am I off base here? |

This is explicitly answered in the helpfile:
Code: |
[...] Although strike of faith can be easily dodged by opponents who are
specialized in weapons combat (including by fighters such as warriors and
rogues such as thieves), these strikes are devastating to spellcasters who
may have neglected their WEAPON WARD defense. |
Not mentioned in the helpfile:
a) Fellow paladins/dark-knights can deflect strikes of faith/pain using their holy/unholy armor, as if they were dodging;
b) Mobs can't dodge strikes of faith/pain, regardless of whether they can dodge normal attacks or not.
Basically, paladins and dks use their strikes to capitalize on weapon ward lapses (instead of hobble/overhead/etc). That (and killing mobs for levels/eq) are the only things that the strike skills were intended for. |

First off, you will miss quite a few strikes of faith on mobs. They can dodge it.
Primarily strike of faith is there to punish spellcasters, wait for ward to fall mid combat (it has an echo), or "prod" them with the strike as the battle drags on. Also it is a nice ranking skill if you dual wield. Other classes have a very effective way of eluding strike of faith rendering it useless. So with them stick to eversweet wrath, flamestrike or utilize some other tactics. |
