How about allowing players under level 10 to use shields regardless of their shield block skill or not? |

I think the best solution to that would be to have a held item that classes without shield block spawn with. |

We don't want shield-less classes to wear shields just for the combat bonuses to AC/damroll/etc. That's why we have a "held item" slot. Note also that good held items are a lot more rare than good shields. |

Speaking of held item slots. I noticed that illithid cannot hold two things, but since they aren't holding a weapon they should be able to use two held items, shouldn't they? |
