There is a "new" class available, called the freelancer. Technically this isn't actually a class, because it eventually converts into a real class to pass the 25th rank.
To play as the freelancer, answer "no" after the last name question in character creation. This will immediately end creation and cause you to start as a human freelancer.
The freelancer is worth trying for people who are new to the realms, because it has a broad variety of skills to try out, and it provides another way for a veteran of the game to pursue their characters development. The commands "path" and "classchoice" will be used to end the freelancer tenure.

All freelancers are allowed to share the same bathroom in Mockers Tavern, regardless of gender. #SerinOpenAndAffirming. |

Couple random questions.
1. Do they have a guildhall they can use to practice skills? All of us veteran players know the different places aside from guilds, but a new player may not.
2. When they select a class what happens with the practices they used? Do they just get a completely clean sheet with all the practices to go with?
3. If they increased a skill that will go to the class they select, does it go with the training? |

I think the answers to # 2 and # 3 are clear in the helpfile. If not, post an issue about it. |

freelancers don't have a guild (hence freelancer), so it would be a bit weird to make a guildmaster for them. i have put a note in help freelancer to point people to open guilds around Serin. |

My bad on 2 and 3. Must have skimmed over that part. And understand the lack of a guildhall just wanted to make sure it was easy for people to find a place to practice. |

What if Freelancers were allowed to use all the guilds? I can imagine the guilds might let them in just to try to recruit them. |

That has some pretty serious consequences if you consider that a freelancer could walk into every guild to pk someone. Better to use an open guildmaster. |

What about xp penalties? If I started as a Freelancer, which has 0 xp penalty, but then switched over to a class with a higher xp penalty, such as a paladin, wouldn't that mean I have a paladin that benefited from 25 levels of lower xp penalties, giving him a more beneficial PK range and overall lower xp tnl totals at higher levels? |

XP to next level is calculated based on total xp and current level, so if you switch classes from a low xp cost class to a high xp cost class your xp to reach next level will just go up by the difference. Good thinking though, that's what I want to see in these threads |
