It sounds like what people are suggesting is armor effects per ability. This sounds a bit crazy. How do you even attempt to balance this?
I think that certain things like wielding a 2h weapon already turn off autosneak. This is a pretty big hit to elf/drow martial classes. Now using heavy armor (part of the DK/Paladin "thing") nerfs them more?
If armor affects dodge, then why would anybody roll a high-dex warrior when they can be a fire giant who would've dodged once per fight anyway?
Where do mages fit in? There's a ton of equipment in the game that was designed with mages in mind, which seems to be pretty randomly distributed over the weight spectrum.
There's certainly an opportunity to improve things, but let's not jump to rash conclusions because something 'feels right'. Balancing a game like this is a herculean task, even more so when the playerbase is low and almost all fights are 1v1. |
