Should the huge influx of newbies take time to play this MUD a while before posting idiotic suggestions?

Just want some of these people to see what the general consensus is regarding drastic changes to AR.

I voted no because newbs can learn from the discussion as to why their suggestions are idiotic.

Experience can teach the same thing nearly as well. When n00bs are called noobs and criticized, they tend to get defensive. That's why I voted yes.

I say no because it would take a lot of experience for a new player to learn why a certain skill/class/whatever would be overpowered, which seems to be what many of the newb posters are missing. Its better to have someone explain it on the forum, even with the flaming and such, so they can get a better grasp of game balance.

Personally, Newbies bring lots to a game, besides fresh meat. They look at the game and see some flaws that most overlook.

for one: lots of noobs play new muds because they "want to create the game they want", and thus go to whatever communication means the Mud provides and try to voice out what they want/don't want and they expect to be "listened" to which literally means implemented immediately. 9/10 of the noobs whose suggestions have been rejected will leave the mud for another, hoping to try their luck in another mud that will "listen" to them.
etc, etc, etc.

I played for 2 years before I knew there was a forum, lucky for me. New players need to learn somewhere, and the line between lunacy and brilliance is narrow indeed. Sometimes something intriguing comes out of it.

In the ongoing battle between lunacy and brilliance, it is always better to err on the side of lunacy due to its superior inscrutability.

I didn't go quite as long but yeah, I didn't even bother clicking the 'forum' button until I got really bored...

Me too! And I nearly fell off my seat when I learnt there was a better way than telnet to connect.

Obviously brilliance has superior inscrutability. Your post is lunacy.

Lunatics raving about being clever. Hmmm... the world must've tilted.
