As of now there is a possibility that some weapons may attack in a
different way. For instance, a sword might be able to both slash and
stab. There is also a very rare chance that a weapon could do a
special attack. The best example I can think of is the hell-blade,
which is wreathed in black flames, and will have a chance to do a
flame attack. In order for that special attack to work, you first
have to strike perfectly (see help AC) and additionally beat the
AC again - hitroll is your friend for that, as is dirt kicking.
Given that there are over 1000 weapons in the game, expect it to
be a while before this is a common property of items.
The high level goals are this:
- spears will do pierce
- axes will do slash
- swords, whips and daggers will do a mix of slash and pierce
- maces, flails and staff will do mostly beating
As you can see this changes the nature of race vulns just a tad.
We'll play with magic a bit, but it'll be on the special attack
for the most part, if at all.

Perhaps this should go under the monk post, but I figure it would get more visibility.
I understand an average 28 vorpal sword should do a hell of a lot more damage than my fist punching you in the kidney, but in your estimation is monk damage in a place where you think it should be? |

I think we just need to wait for a couple level 50 monks to seriously enter the pk scene and see how they do. |

Yes that could go under monks, but I don't mind discussing it here.
If you think you see something wrong, let me know, but mathematically they should be pretty par for the course. If the math is off, there is only one line of code to change that will fix it. They have decent healing right now, so I'm not worried that the class is unplayable at all at the moment, but I'll move my attention back there if you guys think they need a bit more time. |

Honestly, lets see how things go for say a month or two, so people will go back to playing normal classes now that the 'glamour' of monks has dissipated to see how they handle. |

bishops holy water sprinkler could have a water based for the big hit, torrent or something, I know that there is lots of water weapons, but maybe to lower that take one of the staffs, and do the same thing to it, so that the first and second or just physical attacks and the third is a water or something. leave the lower water ones all water though since their averages are low anyways |
