How many months are in a year in AR?
Exactly how does time work in AR?
When will this day come?

Yeah good question, I see people fleeing and sleeping for like 3 seconds. It happens to be on the tick like they know when they are. Is there a way to see how long until the next tick, or how many seconds are between them? Are the months and years anything significant like for a purpose? |

Ticks are thirty seconds apart (or something close to that), and I'm pretty sure the days and months don't even go in a certain cycle... my guess is that it just picks random combos. |

There isnt even a helpfile on it. Help time doesnt really help at all. |

I really don't think the helpfile is needed to explain specifically how many seconds is there in a tick. Well counting the delay between ticks should be one of the most basic things besides walking around and learning to "k blah"
If you hadn't noticed, the delay for hp regen is about 28 to 33 seconds average. I've seen ticks that're 20 seconds, or those that are 40 seconds. I guess those are really rare, but they actually do happen. |

after playing for a bit you'l get a 'feel' for when the next tick will happen, it becomes instinct.
Eventually you'l be so immersed with the game that you'l be dropping down in public around every 30 seconds, closing your eyes and jump back up suddenly. |

How long is "a bit"?
I've been playing for two years, and I don't do that... I haven't even had a 50 yet. Crap, I suck. |

Mud time = the time according to AR
Crazy time = the time according to the "imaginary" world (phrase coined by Latamire)
1 mud hour = 30 real seconds
1 mud day = 24 mud hours = 12 real minutes
1 mud week* = 7 mud days = 1.4 real hours
1 mud month = 5 mud weeks* = 35 mud days = 7 real hours
1 mud year = 17 mud months = ~5 real days
Code: |
Day names:
1) Day of the Moon
2) Day of the Bull
3) Day of Deception
4) Day of Thunder
5) Day of Freedom
6) Day of the Great Gods
7) Day of the Sun |
Code: |
Month names:
1) Month of the Winter Wolf
2) Month of the Frost Giant
3) Month of the Old Forces
4) Month of the Grand Struggle
5) Month of the Spring
6) Month of Nature
7) Month of Futility
8) Month of the Dragon
9) Month of the Sun
10) Month of the Heat
11) Month of the Battle
12) Month of the Dark Shades
13) Month of the Shadows
14) Month of the Long Shadows
15) Month of the Ancient Darkness
16) Month of the Great Evil
17) Month of Winter |
* There is no week mentioned in the AR calendar, but obviously there's not enough days to fill a month, so something strange going on there. Looks like 7 mud days per mud week, 5 mud weeks per mud month.
You might want to check that this is all ok, since I just read the time update functions without properly testing... and keep in mind that its completely arbitrary and meaningless beyond the smallest unit (the hour). |

All you really need to know is that a mud hour is "roughly" 30 real time seconds. It actually varies with each tick so that you can't time it with any precision. However, if you keep spamming a mixture of 'where', 'eq', 'gr', 'who', or even just enter, then you can know exactly when the last tick fell and thus it would be a good idea to sleep 25-28 seconds afterwards if you want to catch the tick. |
