Maybe it's just me, but isn't retreat the opposite of rescue? If so, shouldn't there be a lag with retreat?

You retreat behind a large grizzly bear's position.
Txivnezjwo blocks your arrow with a shield.
Txivnezjwo has quite a few wounds. |

It's not opposite in terms of lag time. It's opposite in who's taking the blows. Usually a warrior rescuing another puts himself infront of the blows. A ranger retreating puts someone else infront of the blows. But the actual action of it happening is the same, the lag is after the retreat. You can't flee immediately after retreating (the lag).
Edit: And the actual "Twixcandyjwo blocks your arrow with shield" is the attack assosiated with you retreating. You have to hit them or cause some way for them to be held back from stopping your retreat, i.e. hitting them, or causing them to stop and block your attack. That's why it doesn't work if you miss them. |
