'PSIONICIST'

Psionicists are a guild of rare individuals born with special abilities.
These mages of the mind each have a coming-of-age story where they initially
discovered their psionic abilities. Some of these individuals may choose to
use these powers to fight for good causes, while others will succumb to
madness and turn evil. The extraordinary self-discipline needed for
psionics bars those of a chaotic nature.
Psionic magic is self-discovered and originates from within the mind of the
psionicist. Like the divine magic which is received from the gods and may
depend on the god that gave it, the psionics spells cannot be truly taught
to another. Because of its highly internal nature, it is difficult for
psionicists to use their power to aid others with beneficial effects and
healing compared to their illusionist and invokers peers, but in return what
they can offer is flexible and able to cover a greater range of needs.
As their magic originates from within, psionicists do not 'cast' in a way
they could be cut off from by spells such as blasphemy or silence, but they
are more sensitive to concentration loss and especially resting poorly due
to external distractions. Due to this sensitivity, some psionicists may
become reclusive, dwelling in remote locations far away from society,
sometimes underground.
Psionicist wield a mix of telekinetic and telepathic abilities. The spell
power will depend acutely on the aptitude (i.e. ability to focus) of the
psionicist, and artifacts can be found to help them to amplify that focus.
