STAFF Weapon Type: Shaft Attribute: Strength Primary Attack: Average Primary Defense: Very High Sometimes called 'the only civilized weapon', a staff is the preferred weapon of many clerics and martial artists. A long, reinforced weapon that requires both hands to wield properly regardless of one's race, a staff can strike reasonably effectively with its two ends, and is a superlative weapon for deflecting enemy attacks whether at close range or from a distance. Although usually utilized by spellcasters for its defensive prowess, a staff like other two-handed weapons enjoys doubled enhanced damage in the hands of a fighter, and can thus deliver surprising damage against the unwary. The only drawback to the staff is that a staff requires both hands to wield, preventing the user from either dual parrying or shield blocking. * More powerful than one-handed weapon classes. * Best weapon for parry.
