WEAPON WEAPONS
Syntax: AUTOMATIC
Weapons are wielded by most races for both attack and defense. The more
proficient one is at their weapon skill, the more often they may connect
against their opponents and the more damaging their attacks will be when
they do connect. In addition, one's proficiency in their weapon (and often
their opponent's weapon as well) has a large influence on the success of
many skills, such as PARRY and DISARM. A weapon's power is described by its
average damage, with higher average damage being better.
Each weapon has its own advantages and disadvantages, and there is no single
best weapon class in the Abandoned Realms. For more details, see the help

AXE the proficiency in using various sizes of axes
BOW the proficiency in using bows of varying heights
DAGGER the proficiency in using various different daggers
EXOTIC the proficiency in using strange or magical-based weapons
FLAIL the proficiency in using ball-and-chain weapons
MACE the proficiency in using maces, clubs, and hammers
POLEARM the proficiency in using lances and pole weapons
SPEAR the proficiency in using various spears
STAFF the proficiency in using various staffs and sticks
SWORD the proficiency in using swords, blades, and scimitars
WHIP the proficiency in using whips and chains
Weapons are further divided into weapon types that affect how well they match
up against each other. For more details, see HELP WEAPON TYPES.
There are many skills related to the wielding of weapons. Some of the most
important weapon skills are PARRY, DUAL WIELD, DISARM, and ENHANCED DAMAGE.
