|
|
This is an idea I got from a player who wants to stay anonymous, so I'm posting on their behalf after we had a little discussion about it:
Code: |
A brawl-type event that could be recurring if enough people are interested.
Kind of similar to the arena, but more intended as one that can be either
free-for-all, 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3 and so on. Participants can unanimously opt
to have cabal powers suspended or kept during the fights. Another idea is to
have pdeaths waived during this kind of event, and that maybe a winner could
stand a chance of being rewarded with an entire wipe of their pdeath record,
plus whatever kind of reward immortals might like to dream up. Or maybe no
reward at all. Just players giving each other a good 'ole skull-bashing. RP
may also be suspended or kept. I think it'd also be appropriate to make
looting impossible in all manner, to keep in spirit of the event.
In the brainstorm, the idea of maybe only allowing stuns to take place
rather than actual player deaths came up. I'm open to anything really. As
an individual advocating for keeping fun unbridled to maybe a flaw, I would
suggest the following rules:
1. No looting
2. No pdeaths accumulate
3. Unanimous consent of players to keep or suspend cabal powers during it
4. Not held in a separate port of the game (not like Brawl Day)
5. Free-for-all, able to be altered as a teamed conflict (2v2, 3v3, etc)
Feedback is sought from both players and immortals.
Please throw in all the cents (and sense) you have! |

to me it sounds a lot like brawl day, but bringing it into AR. i could see it being a religion based event (Diocletian is probably best fit for this) so there is still an RP basis and people can participate fully IC, but just gear up like it's a tournament. taking the fear of dying, losing your l33t gear, and cabal restraints out of the equation, so it's literally just a pkfest. if we make it a specific time (say it replaces one surge night every 3 months or something) all you pkers can get together and have a battle royale with lots of folks instead of just fighting 1 on 1 all the time. could be to last man standing, or most deaths in the time period, or whatever. |

You don't get to hellstream/dupe/raise dead in the above mentioned games. |

gee moondog that was entirely unhelpful. how about a useful suggestion for improving the event to something you'd want to play |

No thanks. We already talked about this in like 10 different topics. Giving people incentive to log in at once has no real affect on the game so it is pointless. Leave things the way they are.
I would like a real brawl day though, on a separate server. |

the whole reason why it was suggested not on a separate server is because it takes away the entire playerbase from the actual game. not great
what do you mean incentive to log in has no real effect on the game? surge already does this and it lets you have more group interactions. incidentally herald events have generally had to tag along on surges because otherwise no one is around. |
