So I've been reading the posts about Code, although I didn't know him. And I finally deceided that going in the chat at least once would be ok. So I download IRC and click the link and IRC isn't registered protocol or some simalar complaint. I use Mozilla firefox if thats any help. |

ARIRC or official MIRC? You'll probably need to consult the mirc helpfiles before I can help you... but anyway, the server for the chat is webchat when you find the list. The browser you use makes no difference to whether you can run an IRC client, but its possible some operating systems may not enjoy the program.
Er, what I tried to say there was manually run your IRC client, sorry for any confusion. |

Yeah it'd say the link isn't a registered/official protocol because it isn't listed down in Windows/any other OS' browser. Well if you do have mIRC installed, IRC should automatically open and connect, even though the alert message pops up. |

Alright, thank you. I'll try it again later, when I can concentrate on it better. I don't want to try it out half asleep like I am as one of the first welcomes I got was 'Don't go to the chat' |

gah you :p join to make it 7 guys active there.
server: irc.webchat.org
port: 6667
You can just look for "Webchat" or "Webmaster" under the server list anyway... and join a random webchat server. |

Well its definitely hard to get on chat the first time.. took me some months to finally figure it out. marsd pretty much nailed it though.
- download/install/run mirc.exe
- find "select server"
- look for 'random webchat/webnet server' on the dropdown list called "IRC server"
- if it isnt in the drop-down list go to ADD and put it in (irc.webmaster.com 7000)
- connect
- /join #AR
It might not be in the list .. |

AR IRC already has the webchat server listed... if you aren't already using it, you could consider as first choice.. |

arIRC from invokation.net is the way to go. It has all the socials programmed in. Also, it's easier to connect since AR chat is default.. with the join being default also. |
