This log is a great post, especially because nothing else was getting posted. I think it's interesting to see the kind of damage that can be done to an unsanc'd illithid with a slashing weapon. It really is a lot. Even more it seems then when Galurn got hammered by Varro unsanc'd. I'm sure the rank difference with these two. I think the main part of the illithids slashing vuln is the huge amount of weapons that carry that damage type, and of course some of them being some of the highest average weapons in the game.

This post seems like as voltron said it was posted since no one else has been posting since trevano decided to delete. I know the rank difference between these two after looking them up on the players page and the illithid had 3 ranks on the dark-knight. Slashing and slicing illithids is one of the only ways to really kill them fast imo.

If I remember right they resist bash and mental and it seems like most other weapon type damage.. throw that on top of not being able to lag them, and they're shock ability, you're absolutely right Blyden, it is terribly difficult to kill one without a slashing weapon. And it looks like if you're an illithid, take special care to make sure you always have sanc up.

He caught me while I was practicing on a guild reward. I wasnt expecting a fight from anyone. It was early morning and for like 30 minutes the only other player around was Dhua. In any case, for me its been a really hard character to get used to. The bar is set really high for this class/race combo and trying to get used to the "glass cannon" type of character has been pretty tough for me. I've learned a lot playing him, but that usually entails a death along with it. The margin for error between staying alive and being dead is pretty much non-existent. If you fuck up, you're likely looking at a corpse and its your own. Its been frustrating at times.

He is correct reiwan, as difficult as illithids are you cannot truely tell how good you will be with it until 50, keep your head down and keep moving forward man.
