Remember dirt is greatly reduced if you’re flying (I.e. in crane). Explains perhaps why it lasted so short in this fight, and why it missed so much against Serra.
Crane against an invoker, and skirmish like hell. Don’t bother with dirt or kicks. I believe your forms proc on successful hits. So greater accuracy means your forms proc more often, you charge chii bolt faster and destroy their barrier. Once their barrier is down they’re toast. I don’t think as Kaeno I had a single loss against an invoker with that strategy (the one death was from a lost duel to Alkas, when an invoker came in as I was stunned and hit us both with a firestorm).
Thoom is a monk eater. Resistance to physical, and your forms don’t proc often enough to bypass that, so you’re fighting an uphill battle that whole time. The closest I ever came to beating him, I relied almost exclusively on crane and leopard and I was in the Ford. Land nerve early, keep your distance, keep him dirted as often as possible, maintain superior form with mantis or panda (not snake), but don’t get caught too long in a fight a without running and healing. Also, if you don’t have it already, make sure you’ve got some extra Dex stacked to offset his hobble. Best tips I can give for now (although you didn’t ask for them LOL).
