first thing to do when you can't wake up is spam "aff" to figure out what's going on. Never recall in combat, flee first. It's a last resort when you can't flee due to terrain conditions or lack of mv. Don't try to recall when you're cursed. You knew you were cursed... it looks like you spammed word 3 times. That's guaranteed death. If you know how to move around blind by feeling walls you can make your enemy pay for the kill. I don't think plague destroys your mv anymore, you can run off the curse and blind and get out with a teleport or gate.
