We went back and forth in short bursts for a while. Nothing crazy interesting. Couldn't land a sleep for the life of me.
Finally did. We both rest up to full. Here we are.

You see before you what appears to be a rugged-looking human. He stands
roughly as tall as two halflings, with long legs and a broad chest. He
seems powerfully built, but not bulky. Rather, he gives the impression
that his muscles are toned from constant use, as opposed to cultivated
through training.

The man's face is round, with a very thin mouth set on a strong jaw.
His black hair has a few thin streaks of grey, but he does not seem to be
very old. His skin is light, though weathered and deeply tanned, and with
small dirt smudges here and there. His eyes are difficult to see, as they
are kept narrowed in a perpetual glaring squint. What glimpses of the iris
you can see reflect a bluish grey color back at you.

The armor he wears has a sort-of lived in quality, as though he rarely
takes it off to sleep. He moves comfortably in it, reinforcing the
perception that it is rarely removed. There are grass and mud stains in
places, and bits of lashing holding together areas that have broken or worn
out.

He is an experienced explorer.

    1. Yep, one of the shittiest changes IMO. You get slept it's basically game over.
    2. "Couldn't land a sleep for the life of me." is the first thing the other guy wrote. This is something you guys toss aside way too lightly. Just consider the frustration level of playing a necro, failing those zombie raises all day. Necromancers allowed the players the chance to succeed at being a predatory evil while tormenting themselves worst of all. Its a real accomplishment in terms of sado-masochism. As somebody who appreciates such things I can only say I've always been very impressed with the implementation of necromancers and especially with the people who successfully play them. There's nothing easy about that.

  3. It's so blackjack and sleep have relevancy. Otherwise everybody would run around thirsty when they see a necro or Flinnegan.
    1. I understand that, but they should have been nerfed accordingly. It doesn't make sense to take away the one defense against those and then leave them as is. If you're not going to be woken by hunger/thirst, then they should have their durations shortened. Two ticks max. Or failed spells should have a chance to wake the target. Something.
    2. Being victim of a lead sack over the head or sleep spell create a coma like state of slumber. Hunger and thirst do not faze them.
    3. Seems like wishing for an easy out. There are other ways.
    4. I wouldn't call fighting with hunger and thirst pains an 'easy way out'. With the current duration, you had to know that you're at risk of blackjack/sleep to start fasting for it. I'd love to hear what other options there are because I'm coming up blank without hunger/thirst too.
    5. It was in the patch notes:
      - - Drinking poison water (e.g. the herbal brew from the mage tower) causes a 4 tick poison of level depending on the item.
    6. poison waking people up was a recent change? Was it even announced? I might have missed it.
    7. That's fair, I didn't think about poisoning myself. I know I'm terrible, but it's still really frustrating.

  4. It's been that way forever. That's why necro's use it as the last spell on a sleeping opponent. It will wake them up.
    1. Casting poison on an opponent wakes him up. Previously if u were suffering from poison and slept/strangle/blackjack it wont wake u up. U dont receive the damage from poison. It was changed back recently. Found it in the patch notes.
