Ok so lets just look at this fight objectively.
Round 1 Kryton is using a crude spear Ayinti is in mantis doesn't seem like Kryton is dual wielding but in reflex mode from being dirted and unsanced. Ayinti is still forced to flee. My guess is Ayinti picked this style to just say fuck it maybe Ill get oblit with a grasshopper kick, why Kryton used a physical weapon is beyond me.

KRYTON

AYINTI drunken stance both are in an offensive stance, and ayinti is doing decent damage with that 1 injure and 1 hit, dirts Kryton and he just double grips hobbles and starts doing cap damage Ayanti switchs correctly to defensive leopard Kryton dual wields and hobbles again
Ayinti flees Kryton is fast at murders two more rounds of all damage from Kryton and the fight is over.
So if you had unlimited movement and you are faster than Kryton with a recall and just run away that prevents you from dying but you are never winning this so called fight of attrition. The crazy part is how much damage sanc mitigates on Kryton their is a huge difference where Ayantis hits actually go through without sanc vs nothing registers with Kryton being sanced. Ayanti did what maybe 100 total damage where Kryton did probably 500. I am sure the eq disparity is there but is it 5 times better?
The biggest disappointment playing monks is I get it my eq sucks, but if I at least see my strikes go through I have something to shoot for by improving my equipment. But you have 22 dex vs 15 dex blinded and doing no hits. Thats why monks against warriors feel unplayable. At least a thief can steal your stuff and win that attrition, this is just a forgone conclusion.
I think at the very least with wind walking like Davairus suggested, you can survive this fight much better and potentially get the upper hand if you play it right.
I also wouldn’t recommend mantis against a giant just due to their physical resistance. Mantis does slashing when empowered versus dragon (holy) or panda (lightning).
Ayinti 0 , 0 , 0 . I wasn't aware air damage was physical... I guess that's why whirlwind pound attacks from weapons like the whirlwind staff and Earth Hammer of the Dwarven King is less effective against giants.
Kryton 0 , 0 , 0 . There's only one reason you wear a physical weapon against a monk...you do it by accident. Didn't realize I was still wearing that spear...and she initiated with dirt so I couldn't change. Reflex mode and wait it out.

The real issue at the end was not fleeing early enough. He stacked hobble and I collapsed every single time I fled. The only other option I suppose was quaffing a recall potion by putting it in hand...
