I'm not sure why but Dav challenged me (Foggledonk) for proof that 7/7 weapons exist.
Dav: "Anyway its a tangent. This post seems to have come up because Foggledonk thinks he can't make 7/7 weapons. That is categorically false. An OP shop was curbstomped over a year ago. So just submit a different wish and/or a bug for foggeldonk if he can prove it."

Pozandroz 0 , 0 , 0 . 8 layers is possible with armor and yes, more difficult. Most armor fades at 2 layers, so expect to ruin 300 pieces of to get one with 8 layers and original properties.
Hiretsuna 1 , 0 , 0 . You can go above 8 layers for armor, though not without fading unfortunately.

I use to be able to enchant up yo 5/5 with scrolls, and maybe even 7 using the higher lvl scrolls. I do not think they do well now.
Foggledonk 0 , 0 , 0 . It does feel like the volatility of enchanting has increased. And I agree with Hiretsuna that enchanting armor that high is more difficult (volatile) than weapons. Davairus 0 , 0 , 0 . Its too confusing to even read that code to make it clever like that.

I always thought it would be cool for some spells to have material requirements.
Arunore 0 , 0 , 0 . Kind of hard to do that though and still actually make use of the spell. But you're right, it would be pretty cool
