The old skiff gently rocked as it made it's way through the unsettling
waters of the marsh. Long ago the goblins discovered a great many resources
below the muck and nasty sludge, and it was Auntie and her fleet of goblins
who were issued the orders of surveying and laboring the dredge. The Goblin
Village made an agreement and offered an undeniable amount of goods to the
third party, a sum which Auntie and company could not refuse.
Ages ago those brutes who had constructed the machine had struck excessive
amounts of gold and copper. Then they used melting smelting tactics and
dumped their waste into the marsh, creating a deadly and hazardous
environment. Even poisonous gasses began to fulminate throughout the area.
This was the harsh lifestyle Auntie and company agreed to, but for a pack of
wild goblins, such was paradise, and they were no strangers to it.
After arriving on the scene, the presumptuous fleet set up camp and made an
attempt to operate the dredge which struck an unscathed vein of cinnabar.
In a matter of seconds, the red crystal released mercury into the swamp and
caused a massive explosion, killing all of the fleet, all but one at least.
Luckily for Gabby, he was off squatting behind a tree, but he definitely
heard and felt the blast. The tree trunk was all that was left, with a
charred and smoking Gabby on the other side.
The last goblin returned to the site to search for survivors, but not all of
the bones were accounted for. Auntie's bones were never found, however the
incident did cause a gaping cavern entrance to split open from the earth.
Gabby never did stick around to explore it..
Description:
A small goblin is here. He is the color green, like the color of fresh
green grass. Large long ears protrude from his bald head, and his eyes are
black dots surrounded by yellow. His teeth are razor sharp and stamped
together as he wears a permanent grin, the gums showing a healthy red. His
fingernails and toenails are grown out like claws, but he doesn't seem too
intimidating, especially with a fat belly and one floppy lazy ear. He kind
of has a funny waddle to his movements, perhaps from a past injury.
