The toughest way for any gnome to be raised, is without a father. No one
to teach you the proper way of beard grooming, or which mixtures to avoid if
your eyebrows are dear to you. It is worse, if your father isnt even a
gnome. Pell Gnostrinius was such a gnome. His mother did well enough with
him, though she says he came out surly, and he was a good example of gnome
ingenuity, everyone said that about him. They also said some less savory
things about him. Stubborn. Obstinate. Irritable.
It wasnt his upbringing, that made him this way. A few young gnomes tried
to pick on him about his heritage, but quickly found themselves disabused of
that notion. Being half-dwarf had its advantages, the primary one being his
size. Nearly one and half again the size of a normal gnome. Those fights
ended with three adult gnomes, pulling the incensed and screaming Pell off
of his verbal attackers.
It wasnt until his marriage, which no one could truly understand what she
saw in him. Whatever it was Maryim saw in him, she was able to control his
temper and his irritation. She was often seen, chastising him and though
she was a sweet woman, her temper was more than a match for his. It wasnt
easy to tell, by how he spoke, but he worshiped the ground she walked on,
though, hed never put it like that.
Description:
A stout gnome, grumbling under his breath occasionally, stumps along barely paying attention to his surroundings. A long white beard, reaching down to his ankles, flutters around him in the slightest of breezes or as he moves. His complexion is a nut brown, from what looks to be long bouts of exposure to the sun, with wrinkles pulling at the creases around his dark green eyes. Though his gnomish heritage is obvious, he looks more like a dwarf, given his abnormal height and girth. Coupled with his countenance of irritation, he may well be part dwarf.
