Installation

  1. Can I keep my existing cMUD settings or do I have to start over?
  2. If you don't have a lot of time invested in your cMUD setup, it might be easier for you to do the new session install and add your macros and aliases after. If you're attached to your finely-tuned cMUD session settings, I recommend that you just import the xml files from the package. You'll want to disable or delete any existing triggers you have for capturing text so there's no conflicts before doing so.

Changing the Layout

  1. I don't see all of the windows I should be seeing. What gives?
  2. If you're missing windows like affects, minimap, etc., it's possible that you need to check your settings under the Layout menu. Make sure that the Lock Layout option is NOT checked. This can prevent you from seeing all of your windows. You'll also want to make sure the Auto-save Layout option is checked. Disconnect from your mud session, close cMUD, and relaunch. Once you're connected to the game this time, you should see your windows. If not, see if they are listed under the Window menu. If you didn't do the full session install and just imported the xml files, the capture windows won't spawn until you actually capture something.
  3. How can I customize the layout of all these windows?
  4. Customizing windows in cMUD is easy once you get the hang of it. If you grab any of your cMUD windows and drag it around, you'll notice little blue icons appear in the center of your other windows. Each set of icons represents the five ways you can dock your window relative to the window containing the icon. You can dock above, below, and to the left or right of any other visible cMUD window. If you put your window in the center of the blue icon, it'll dock "even" with the other window. This allows you to choose which of the windows is active by clicking its tab. Once you have everything where you want it, you can adjust the size of your windows by pulling the edges around. As always, double-check to make sure the Auto-save Layout option is checked before you close cMUD.
  5. Can I change the text or background color of the windows?
  6. You can change the font, text, or background color for any or all of the windows. Click the window that you want to change, then select the Options menu and select Colors. You'll see many different settings that can be changed here, but you will want to select Default Session Text ( listed under the Session folder). From here, you can change the font, the font size, and the background color for your window. Keep in mind that some fonts are not fixed-width and others are not available in every size.

Modifying Package Features

  1. How can I change what the number pad keys do?
  2. By popular demand, the latest versions of the plugin come with pre-defined number pad macros. These can be changed by pressing CTRL-K and then pressing the key you want to modify. If you have your own number pad macros and want to disable the ones included in this package, click the macros button at the top of the cMUD window, open the General class folder, then right click the Keyboard class folder and uncheck the "enabled" option.
