'WOUNDING SHOT'
Syntax: wound
Not every shot fired from a bow is intended to kill. One advantage of
ranged weapons is their ability to shoot down fleeing targets from a
distance during pursuit. The wounding shot ability allows bow-wielding
rangers to fire a well-aimed shot at the legs or wings of affect target to
hinder its escape. A target struck this way is crippled by reduced agility,
while losing stamina for movement and being crippled into stunning should he
attempt to flee combat. A wounding shot will also cause the target to
instinctively turn and engage the ranger in combat to defend itself, no
matter how badly hurt it was. Wounding shot can only be used to initiate
combat, and rangers cannot use the wounding shot ability while defending
themselves from melee attacks.
* Ranger bow skills have a chance to miss against protective shielded or
shield-wearing opponents.
