To the north of you a grove of trees surround the perimeters of a dwarven
kingdom. Through the trees you can make out the outline of a castle, small
and yet clearly aristocrital in design. The road is forced to travel south
due to the presence of a playground of some sort to the west of here. It
seems to be unoccupied, at least from this viewpoint. The road continues
eastwards, travelling towards the City of Timaran.

outskirts of a small village, populated by gnomes. Its light but resilient
surface has grown brittle and hard from the many days of beautiful sunshine
that have been experienced by it. Despite this it has managed to remain in
good shape, looking more than adequate for its function as a trade route.

slowly worn away from the passing by of many travellers and tourists alike

its way through a fairly barren looking forest.

The resilient stone of the Eastern Road stretches out in both east and
west directions for as far as you can see, eventually turning off its track
out of sight. Either side of the road is surrounded by foresty terrain that
looks fairly impassible and perhaps not worthwhile to try to do so. To the
east you see a signpost reaching high overhead.

The Checkpoint
You reach the checkpoint of the Eastern Road. This point serves as both
a guardpost for keeping the road safe from highway robbery and also is the
main means of checking the smoothness of trade flowing in and out of the two
hometowns. The post is guarded day and night by heavily armored knights
that are ever vigilant and alert.

    Yeah same thing happened to me with Nyemes, like two years ago, so im on with my first caballed char and i hear that nyemes is attacking the cabal, so sure enough i run out there to save the day, die to him like four times and delete later. A year later im on with tham and i see hes wanted, he gets me with everything except blasphemy so i can heavens gate out. Finally when tham's fifty i see hes wanted and completely own him. (elite guards work wonders) then with kelek he had five ranks on me, and i owned him (then died due to a bad risk)....

    My advice, don't let him find you, find him. Fight during day, or if you can't keep him on his feet so you can get his charmie t turn on him. Keep him out of purples, flee murder works too, vamps don't get counter, but if you let him initiate thats not gonna help either.

    And I was actually looking FOR wuilan. I wanted to fight him, had no idea he'd kick my ass like that. Last vampire I fought on a different character was cheese, i whooped him hard.

    And I need higher resists? Those mental and mal saves work against shaman's 5 ranks up! Oh well, maybe I do.

    And ya, he had 4 ranks on me. So, I can see his spells working better with that. But still, I only did "decimates" on him with a wrath weapon through sanc. Shouldn't it be higher?

    Haven't fought many vampires, but I've fought a good number of DKs. They're goddamn scary on the offensive, which is why, as 'me' said, you have to take the initiative.

    Secondly, they suck at outlasting in the hands of all but the most competent of players. Charm doesn't last long, and unholy strength has a ridiculously short duration. Recall and run, let that shit wear off, so he's drained and being tracked by an aggro turned charmie.

    But not much you could in this fight, I don't think.

    Oh, IIRC, you have the advantage of dirt over him. Milk that and the sunlight thing.

    Moral of the story? I'm a good align warrior. I can wield....Crusader Sword? Baton of lesser disruption? Vainglory?(Who cares about the dispel good) 'Ira Sanctum'...uhm, mace of disruption might be too heavy for you... But yeah, those help. And obviously if he landed ectasy your mental saves werent enough, shamans hit with mals, he had you with a mental, then hit you with mals when he got the mental. For a vamp, keep a balance. You should actually keep a balance for shamans too, and for necros and dks. Invokers and ills its all about mental mostly, maybe a little afflictive, healers its mostly mental with maybe a touch of mal saves to stop curse. As far as the fight goes, you didnt move far enough way before using the gyvel. Theres a cure poison potion too if you look around. And then I'd ditch like a madman and get to a priest and cure the rest of that crap. And you had triggers for proficiency raising. Should have it like Kalist does so that shit gets disabled when pk starts. Plus he probably switched to weapon advantage while you were nailed with Ectasy, shoulda assumed he would and switched off to what would be disadvantaged against what you were just wielding, so that way it would be advantaged versus what he switched to be advantaged on what you were wielding while konked out. And stuff. Try sucking a bit less in general. Maybe try leveling. Stuff and junk.

    The 'your so happy right now!' is a mental spell. Its called ecstacy. Basicaly sleep, except its easier to land. Keep those saves up. Keep the fight going so you can get him in sunlight, then its a tracking game. fighting vamps = saves until your in the middle of the fight, when he is dedicated to fighting. Swap it up when he gets to big nasty ish.
