Burzuk's goodbye note 1st age circa 1998

My OOC good-bye note.
by Burzuk
First and foremost... no I'm not leaving AR. =P However, after a few months and 900 hours of playing Burzuk, it's time that I end this poor duergar's life to move on to another character. (Some of us play one character at a time, instead of logging on 15 of them to transfer eq or to pk when certain people are on or whatever.) I think news of this leaked out earlier, so this may not come as a surprise to many of you.

In any case, Burzuk was a lot of fun for me to play over the last couple of months. He was the first truly "evil" evil char I played, and what an arrogant, malicious, know-it-all little bastard he was. =) Far too many people merely "role-play" their personalities, and they don't realize how much fun it can be to just throw yourself into an extreme role, and see how well you can swim (or sink) in it. After having done all I've done with Burzuk, I think I can safely say that the next character I role-play WON'T be evil... I only have so much of that in me. =P

In any case, here are a few people I'd like to thank for making it fun to "be" Burzuk:

Caralee: She really helped to "flesh out" my role as Burzuk more than anyone else has. Through always being patient enough to listen to Burzuk's "end of the world" and "Lightwalkers are misguided" speeches and just being her supportive self, she has helped him a LOT to become the "evil preacher" that I wanted Burzuk to be. Thanks a bunch, Cara, and on the off chance that you're reading this, take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

Orcrist: Hey there my fellow ex-Legionnaire. =P Too bad you decided to level up your other char to 50 first instead of leveling with me like I asked you to... grumble. If you would've been around longer at 50, we could've wreaked a lot more havoc. Sigh, we will have other characters and talk more about all the old-school people. In any case, it was a blast running together as criminals. =P

Jeanne: She's another peron I have to thank for putting up with all my IC rants. Not too many people would have the patience to sit through Burzuk going on and on about why it was absolutely necessary to kill them for their own good... hehe. =P Too bad you weren't around much after I leveled to 50, but then again you might've died of con loss at the rate I was "teaching" you. Sorry about all that. =)

Pelzer: Blah, here's another guy that ditched me to level his other character. =P Thanks for being there to help add some real damage to my meager output when we go up against all those Knights. I think the they hated seeing the two of us together more than any two other evils. =)

Sedgwick: Doh, we never did get our "Sedgwick Elendiel Burzuk Philosophy Face-Off" in our little inn room. =( Oh well, I wanted to drag both you through my evil muck, since I love twisting your words around. =) Preach on, not many people bother to try to RP a priest like they should. Most people are healers only for gate/sanc/heals/divine/barrier/fly/prayer/dispel/prot shield/etc.

Vanshalar: Where the hell did you come from, old-timer? =P

Athaekeetha/Tylor: Doh, I could've used you guys to help even the odds against all them Knights from time to time. You know you want to see the three of us go up against six or seven Knights or so. =)

Knights: Heh, as a group most of you guys run from inexperienced to mediocre, with some exceptions. Not enough of you know how to use your Knight skills properly, because there's more to being a Knight than your ward of light and your anti-demonic visage weapons. =P Spend a little less time running through Winter, and a bit more time fighting evils, and take more chances when you fight. You'll never learn how to fight properly if you just sit on your eq and let it do the work for you. =) Remember, take more chances! And go out and wander around to help people more often, there are ways of helping and guiding lowbies other than just decking them out after they get pk'd. The Knights don't have a very good reputation right now, and for the most part they've earned it. =(

Legions: Burzuk didn't really like you guys. =P He was partially out to show people what a big mistake Quazark made in uninducting him. Really, Legions could've been a LOT more than just a group of friends pk'ing together, and it's a shame that most of you never got your RP straightened out. Let's see more intimidating and ruling by fear and role-playing from the cabal, instead of just violence violence violence. =)

Everyone: A general thanks to the people who would take the time to argue, bicker, debate, agree, disagree, etc with me. For some people I know it's disheartening to try to role-play when people seem to be just hording/powermongering all around you, but I hope maybe that some of you now have seen that it can be done. And also, you don't have to tailor your role-playing for a certain cabal, heck if I can survive without a cabal when Knights and Legions hunting me all the time then you can too. =P And people outside of your pk are still people too, you can talk to them once in a while. =) I hope to see from you guys more truly original characters on the mud. We all have to do our part to add to the role-playing enviroment here.

That's all folks, I'm taking some time off for now but I'll be back with another character soon. See you guys in Thera.
