  1. Laban Oni Hmmm -
    How many titles did he have on you? And, what sort of wrath weapon were you using? Either way.. ouch. Perhaps just work on wearing out his purple supply totally. Do some flee/run/reattack stuff. See about something that would be segment and hit his vuln? Not sure what you were using, as stated before. But though Wrath doesn't get hindered by his resistance, it doesn't nail a vuln either. And check your luck. Ohter than that, I defer to the pros.

    I didnt think to give more information.

    I am not new, perhaps rusty but not new. I do know that you shouldnt be able to just wear a weapon and rage these days. I tried everything I could think of, and nothing would work.

    I was tied in weapons (swords) with him, and I had the ups on him in combat style. The whole fight.

    He had 3 ranks on me.

    Normally I can say damn...I really messed up there. But here I really cant see anything I could have done different.

    Appreciate the help.

    Vuln weapons pwn. And no point hobbling a giant if he's not gonna flee and you're not gonna bash (bashing doesn't even stun a fire giant much, but not sure how it compares with tripping a giant AS a giant). If you weren't a giant I'd say don't hobble at all. As for Mernix just raging on you ftw, some more damroll and a vuln weapon will make him sorry he did that (if you can withstand the flamebearing and the reduced mental vuln). And if he roars at you, your skills drop by 50%, so you can consider trying to flee through the hysteria (immediately so he has trouble chasing) wait for it to wear off, and then you either land a murder or milk the counter, followed by overhead/sideswipe.

    I'm not an expert, I just pretend to be.

    Simplest solution is get an effigy, and straight overhead when he rages with dual-wield, or sideswipe when he's two handed. Otherwise, run as far as you can.

    don't know why you stayed in the fight that long when you clearly weren't making a dent in him... but yeah, vuln + wearing out purples is a good idea, and possibly more damroll eq if you didn't already have it

    What I would do is flee when he rages, run around for a tic and try to get in a situation where you know his sanc will fall in a tic and you have 2 tics on yours, then re-enter combat and start spamming sideswipe (if he's still using two handed) hopefully you will survive the one tic when you both have sanc, then when his runs out you get a full tic of attacks on him with no sanc.

    Easier said than done of course, but thats what i'd be trying to do.

    This isn't going to be a stand up fight, as this quote proves. He is probably well stocked in purple potions and you will need to wear down his stock all the while keeping track of his whereabouts. If you were to fight him and actually beat him, you are going to have to make sure you have a few hours to do it. This would be a really long fight. Go into it well stocked as well, recalls purples and the like.
