A Low Ceiling
You find yourself having to stoop here as the ceiling is much lower
than usual housing. It is perhaps with good reason that this corner
*-* of the cabin remains unused and empty. Cobwebs have slowly settled
| | and established themselves as the only thing of any real interest
@-*-* here. The wooden floor has begun to rot and rising damp climbs the
walls.

Various cupboards line the walls here with their doors flying wide
open. As you look inside them you can see that they seem virtually
empty. At the western corner of the wall is a small sink containing
a pile of plates and various cooking utensils. Next to the sink
@-*-* is a tiny stove with a small saucepan on its top. The floor has
| | been covered with a layer of newspaper to protect the fine timber
*-* floor from accidental spills.

Carved just inside the northern wall is a small hearth containing embers
and small logs. A brass poker rests against the hearth looking blackened
from excess use. Hanging from the ceiling is a small globe of light
that strangely remains unlit. Perhaps the owner of the shack has
*-@-* let it expire and forgot to replace it.

A small and perfectly well-made bed is pushed up the corner of the
room here looking very cosy. At the side of the bed is a small cabinet
which appears to be for medicine. Resting on top of the cabinet
is a small lantern which glows green rather than the usual white
*-*-@ of most. Next to the lantern is a small frame encasing what appears
| | to be an ancient family portrait. It looks very valuable to its
*-* owner.

| all sides are bullrushes and long grass reaches up to your knees.
*-*-* The floor is covered in a few inches of water and minnows nibble
| at your toes. The air is salty and a cold breeze blows in from the
@-o-o skies. To the south of you the weeds become quickly thick and impassable.
