I toy with the idea of being a thief, just for the steal lulz.
If you want some advice, ask away, I can sometimes be helpful.
1) Hit my murder macro instead of my ca li macro during a few of the skirmishes.
2) Used an area affect with guards in the room (sigh)
3) used fbal instead of iceball
4) didn't anticipate him having dinv applied in the beginning...I was actually hunting him while he was hunting me
5) didn't use my unholy strength, my harm at the end, or plague.
on the flip side tho, it's awesome to see a new player getting his hands dirty on the field of pk, and you did very well to be using a physical weapon and to be new at fighting. keep it up
use unholy strength and keep amplifying it as the fight draws out. a bit dangerous, but better than the alternative of amplifying it unnecessarily and getting owned by the long drain and subsequent stat loss.
Or,
Use the mals of a DK to create more defense for you. Curse is the best simply because it lowers hitroll, lowers enemy saves, and keeps them from recalling.
poison is another instant change that has dramatic effects in lowering enemy defenses as well as offenses. depending on the intensity of the fight, you may go for curse first, or try poison first because it lowers hit and dam via str and dex.
shield is one of the best defenses of a DK, but dont let that stop you from dual wielding when you have two vuln weapons.
Hes a warrior, so don't bother with the dirt kicks. it won't help you unless he's fleeing to avoid death. also, initiating with murder is riskier against a warrior because of counter. a magic spell may be better in that situation.
For people in general, summon and plague and curse are all great for limiting somebody's ability to run away, but summon is costly on mana, and plague needs time to work. plague is also useful for hitting someone who will start fleeing the moment they get it, because if you stay on them without fighting them, you're getting basically free damage from the lowering of health due to plague effects increasing over time. Particularly with giants and their weakness to mental, a fleeing giant can be yo-yo'd with summon until they cant run anymore. best not to use this unless you have a clear health advantage though.
energy drain. this is one of those chance spells. if it lands with full effect, it will severely mess with their ability to move around. Much like the way slow makes moving much more strenuous, but without the higher regen of slow. if you try this once or twice in a fight and it doesn't work, its probably time to flee and rest up.
in addition to either style, you'll want to be spamming damage spells unless you have rank advantage or they are clearly without saves, in which case you should land a mal or two.
then there's the consumables. there are a variety of wands out there which give you some healing, and have a lot of uses. mahn tor horn of life is 8x cure light. good if you have multiple ones and some distance, or if you have recalled to heal, and want to surprise them by turning the tables when they run after you only to find you're healed up. scroll of flying is necessary to get away from fighter classes when things go snafu.
until you get to higher levels, you cant be bothered with a large weapon selection to counter style and weapon advantages. you need your weight devoted to heavy armor, red dragon seems to be the best for this. a bit tough to get, but if you buy 3 resistance pots, and a lot of regeneration. you can attack with iceball, flee, heal and repeat. the un(holy) armor ability will also protect you from lag skills to a degree.
harm is best used when they have sanc up and against an enemy that doesn't have a vuln you can cast.
