    Wounding shot works, enemy just has to be hurt enough and not wearing a shield. I hit it several times, but unfortunately most of the times it was against dwarves who are mostly unaffected by wounding shot anyway.

    Why doesn't wounding shot work against dwarves very well? I keep reading people saying things like "rangers have advantages over warriors", "dwarves aren't affected very much by wounding shot", where is this information coming from?

    don't believe the hype. every class has advantages and disadvatanges. Rangers get dual wield enchanced damage, can switch weapons faster than a war and own any warrior who is dual wielding. However they can easily be gimped by combat skills like hobble(losing dodge), sideswipe, and so forth, being sucky without their pets (fight in a city), and have few combat skills leaving some rangers doing things like dirt kicking against warriors (where you can easily reflex on or go with that hobble/overhead if in the right style)

    as far as wounding shot not working against dwarves, there's nothing about that in the helpfile nor have I ever heard it so it seems like a rumor to me. any evidence behind that statement adebladi?

    Mostly a good fight. Having the healer give you sanctuary kind of ruined your victory though. That was pretty lame...

    Yes, wounding shot is health related. Get the enemy in the lower end of bignasty or worse and wound shot steps into effect. It works very well and very often if used correctly.

    Dwarves can get it like anyone else, but the thing is that the recovery time from hobble (and hobble like skills from wound shot) are based on constitution (which is why Ade said it's not so effective against dwarves). But if you ever get to use wound shot on an enemy, the fights about over anyway.

    And the healer sanc ..*thumbs down*

    Xariel should have definitely sideswiped instead of hobbled. With javelins equipped sideswipe enables autovolley, which counts for some sick damage if you have good ones. I'm sure there are some logs a few pages back with use of it.

    Also something else to note was the arm distension pulled mid round from a good parry of the offhand weapon, I don't see that happen often, and when he tried to equip the bow and got hurt, would have been a good time to dirt.

    Other than that, don't run around hurt without your shield equipped fighting a ranger. You're just asking for wound shot.
