This death really left me with a bad taste for the game. I am an evil, rank 15 with a level 1 pet. Sepid is an evil rank 13 who I had never talked with or met before. Out of the blue, he comes in with a mercenary and attacks and kills me.

I know I\x92m not safe after the 10th rank, and generally I accept AR\x92s rule that just being \x91evil\x92 entitles you to an automatic role play reason to kill, but I think at low ranks that there should be a better reason.. I was logging so I could go back and re-read the help files. I posted the log of the fight (boring as it is) so that maybe the few people that act this way might see themselves and think twice before continuing to act this way.

From your victim\x92s perspective, I see an experienced player wearing an \x91equipment set\x92 and grouped with a level 10 mercenary killing another low level player who you have no idea how much experience they have, nor do you care. I wonder what you get out of such an unchallenging, cowardly fight? What is even the point of such low level killing without cause?

I might have some respect for you if you had fought one-on-one without a mercenary and/or given me a few warning hits to alert me that I should watch out for you. I\x92m getting to know your type and my guess is that I\x92ll never see you again. You are a coward with low self esteem on a quick power trip. This type of behaviour does a disservice to the Imms and players who put so much into making the game fun and fair and challenging because it is not fun to be at the receiving end of a totally, pointless senseless killing. Senseless killings drive people away from the game.

I don\x92t want to hear any comments like accept it or suck it up because I have until this point. I know it\x92s only one death and he didn\x92t take anything from my corpse. I don\x92t know why this one death makes me so angry. I guess, this was just the last straw. I would be interested in hearing from people who behave this way the reasons why they do it.

That's called a "silent pk" and if an imm had seen it, he would've gotten in trouble for it.

Sent a complaint to an immortal. See help PK that is against the rules. Me Evil Me kill you is not a good enough reason to pk at low levels. Not to mention that three sentance Desc would likely not be accepted and that would get him a deny or slay more then likely. Report him and the Imms will deal with it thats just trash.

If you are able to suck it up and deal with it, you become a player with much more of a backbone. I look at that as a possible end effect. I don't do it because it's about 7-10 years out of style. Getting chain bashed/full looted right as you hit 15 is pretty frustrating.

I wish that there were more lowbie pk'ing like this so that when it happens at a slightly higher level, people aren't as taken by surprise. On the flip side, the more time people have invested into a character, the less likely they are to quit.

Also, fyi, one silent pk as a lowbie does not constitute trash. It might be trashy, but it isn't trash.

You have to understand, AR is a game. You should not get emotional when your character dies. Thats stupid. Its not like hes gone forever. He still there, but maybe you have to spend 30 mins reequipping.
So yeah, suck it up.

Yeah, killing like that is trash, I don't care if there is any argument against it, this is the one thing I'm unwilling to give the other said a chance on. Sepid killed about four lowbies in the space of an hour or so the other day.(I was one of them)
And his tells afterward didn't quite fit inside AR standards. I don't care what his reason is or isn't. It's trash. And I don't care if you get looted or not, it's the idea behind it. There's no reason to go around killing people at rank 12.

Then why is the flag activated at rank 10?

It implies there is a reason to kill someone at rank 12.

If people don't like being able to PK at 10th rank, then post an idea to the Ideas forum to get it changed. In the meantime, stop whining and get ready for PK as soon as you hit 10th. Sheesh.

I'm curious what Sepid's bad tells were. Care to share?

I remember when I first started playing ar, me and a few friends would just rank to fifteen, train and pk each other... Then they all stopped playing and I had to deal with people who actually knew what they were doing... Wasn't as much fun having my ass handed to me repeatedly, that is until I figured out about fiery daggers and purple potions...

The way i see it pk flag you get at 10 so prepare to defend yourself if you are good and see an evil in pk at any time get ready to fight same goes for if your and evil and see a good. yeah silent killings are gay but people do it so get over it. Bass I am sure if you got attacked you know your way around enough to run.

It sucks to get PKed, especially at low levels. My second experienced in Ar wwas getting raped, lost, killed, lost again, ragedelete. So I know how you feel, but you're in the wrong mindset to play AR. Your items and gold that isn't banked means nothing, and you must realize this. Its a game where you're never safe, chaos is everpresent and danger lurks just around the corner. This is the sort of game you play, and tbh without sounding like an asshole you're just going to have to get used to it.

On the bright side once you do get used to it, it becomes second nature and those annoying deaths just become a learning experience.

And I highly doubt you'll get into any trouble Pking ever "without a reason" unless you're neutral.

My my... So much comments about a lowbie pk. I think it's pretty alright. Just run like hell at that level if u're a mage vs a berserker or something. I dont even try, maybe others will try. Trash are people like *some ppl* who gets the fucking spider statue, charms spiders and walk ard getting lowbie mob killed. Getting killed at level 15 isn't anything at all... Get used to it.

Reborn I do know my way around enough to run, but not when I ask the guy to group, he agrees, we go and fight a round, sleep, fight another round, then when I goto sleep again with like 10hp he attacks and kills me. No chance to run. And I can't remember exactly what his tells were Iolo.
And I'm not trying to get a change made. I'm just saying if you do it, you're a dick. Cause there is no reason. Other then that, whateva whateva, life goes on.

straight out of the log seems like you could of ran. yeah evils can get away with alittle bit more than other aligns and yeah it sucks.

If everyone needed a good rp reason to pk then goods would need more than oh sir you thou art evil and evils would need more than hey im evil i do what i want cause fuck you.

if this guy killed 4 noobs in less than an hour I'm sure someone would take notice but hey you know you could always kick his ass full loot and when he tries to re-equip kill him again without saying a word to him if it makes you feel better.
