Laisah has told me that there was some confusion about Mizan and how I
knew about his death so shortly after it had happened. As such, I'm writing
this note to clear things up. I was gathering a couple purple potions when
I saw him limp eastwards into the dwarven mines. I am a curious fellow and
I went to see what he was doing. He slept at the treant guards just outside
the western entrance of the Armageddon Sanctuary and I looked at him and saw
that he had no wares. I correctly deduced that he had fallen in or near the
Sanctuary and went around through Timaran and found where he had died.
There was no corpse, but a good amount of wares were on the ground, so I
knew that Laisah must have drained his corpse and that they were where he
was headed. I never claimed to be honourable, and I took some of his
things. I did this because he was such a nuisance to me previously. He
constantly was ordering me around, telling me to be quiet, that I was
stealing his air and that I should stop breathing. Telling me that he would
kill me as soon as he could. So I, naturally, took preventive steps to slow
his march to my rank in his attempt to kill me.

During the time of The Alliances, when allegiances over cabals were drawn
and adhered to, these solo artists began to slowly dwindle in numbers, as
they were gradually killed in battle over the items, and adventurers began
to shun their guild and ways, for its danger was too much to handle. The
rogues that remained increasingly became less rogue-like, and more similar
in nature, and their guildhall reformed into the thief guildhall. Preying
upon the hometowns and cities of Thera, thieves steal for gold and fame,
the only characteristic they share with their ancestors class.
With the ability to move undetected through the shadows, thieves may lurk[Hit Return to continue]
around the towns picking off unsuspecting harmed adventurers. Playing
pranks, setting traps, stealing and murder, the majority of thieves are
the delinquents of society, often living a life of crime, and let their
fate be controlled by fortune. Their nature leads them to be untrusting,
and in some cases backstabbing, even more so within their own guild.
*** NOTE WELL *** Those who choose the neutral alignment for their thief
should be advised that they are subject to the typical neutral restrictions
upon playerkilling. Excessive violence will result in alignment change and
possibly even outcasting. The motive to steal will not cover you against
repeated inadvertent attacks caused by blunder.
