Second of all, do not say in combat with an illu that long. The dupes don't assist on his first murder round. And if you get the murder in, you get free attacks. More flee and murder type deals. You might want to try something like plague and run for a bit so that it worsens. Or dystentary. I mean, he's vuln to mal and you have a whole host of pretty maledictive spells to choose from. Dispel magic as well.
If he didn't have any gyvels you could have fled and recouped after you landed that blindness.
Shamans are a war of attrition class. Illus are not. Try to outlast his dupes. Possible way to go would be to dispel them, but I don't know how viable a strategy that is.

You should have dispelled the illusions *first*. I can't remember if breaks help, but deteriorate and blind? Wtf. No illusions = an illusionist on the run doing absolutely no dps.
Plus, you got hit with dreamstruck and a 4 rank disadvantage and possibly savebreaks and you're surprised he landed his spells so easily?

Right here you deteriorated his mirror. I never used a mal on a mirror but this is why the mirrors started attacking you. If a slith sheds his skin and you flee from it and re-enter, it autoattacks too.
Did you find out how many Gyvels he had? If he had only a few, curse his ass and run around healing a bit. Than land the blind.
You could have also forced him to recast his mirrors by using earthquake.
Atleast that is what I would have tried, may not have been the best idea, but worth a shot.

-Illusionist can land spells easiest of all the classes as dreamstruck can be up to +30 mental or even over. Add a savebreak to that and the fact that he was some ranks over you, you need to be ready for his spells to land. Also, if you look at the log he actually only landed 1 mental spell out of four tries, so saying that he landed everything on the first shot is an outright lie.
-blind was a good idea imo, since it would probably have given you enough time to flee and would also prevent him from gating if he had no gyvels. Dispeling illusions probably wouldn't have worked as that priest is lvl 50 and you probably would have failed. Also weaken was a big mistake, ills don't really have that much need for str. Dispel, flee/murder or a damage spell might have worked better or curse if you thing you were gaining the upper hand. Also since he terrained you, wording as soon as possible would be a good idea so not to get stuck.
