Your uneasiness mounts as you walk along this haunted stretch of road.
The mist clears, and you find yourself in a nightmarish forest. The
empty husk of a dead nymph lies at your feet, and on either side of you,
the trees look twisted and tortured into unnatural shapes. The depths
of the forest sends up a hopeless cry to usher you into the woods that
ring the edge of Hell.

Asilis's thwack maims you!
What the heck is that?
I believe that quick wield is a factor of being able to use certain skills after a weapon switch/ atleast it should be this way IMO.
Asilis's thwack devastates you!
Hukt on fonix wurkt 4 mee.
I was unaware of an arrow giving a 'Thwack' and it kind of sounded stupid to me. Sounded more like.. what I would expect the bow to do when out of arrows, thus I made the assumption it might be a case of the game displaying dodging an arrow since it's a fucking bow, but it being rather the swinging of the bow. Wouldn't be the first case of odd messages, so don't need the smartass reply.
If you would've read the log instead of "making an assumption" then posting said assumption onto the logboard, you could've avoided the smartass reply.
When you 'assume' it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'. Or in this case, just you.
BABY BABY BABY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OH
BABY BABY BABY OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
uh.. i dont think we'll see rogues as top pkers for a long time but i do want to keep an eye on the skillswitch, i mean i dont mind the fast switch /skill stuff, the point is to be using skills without using them mindllesssly, what bothers me is when they become win button
Where the hell have you been?
Ygin anyone?
Criminy.
I started out my addition to this log, with: "Is the ranger using arrows that thwack... or is he out of arrows and beating on the ninja with the bow? I'm a bit confused. "
This indicates:
1) Read the log.
2) Curious whether there are arrows that do Thwack or if it is a message provided by the system automatically due to the nature of the weapon being used. (Bow)
Seeking to clarify so I better understood what I was seeing in the log and not missing something, I asked the question assuming I'd get a good adult/mature answer from a peer.
Quickly Shadok was able to provide such a service with: "The arrows from the muscular ranger are a thwack. My guess is the arrows." Amazing no? A concise, adult reply to a question. Thanks Shadok! Appreciated. See, this is how adult forums work on the web, we ask questions... and mature fellow users or fans of said material provide intelligent and/or useful answers.
In case you missed it Sebryn, your replies were a bit more in the... 13 year old forum troll trying to gain acceptance or validation with their peers via snarky, non-useful, antagonistic replies. This is usually behavior people grow out of once they hit adulthood. First with the
Hukt on fonix" and then the "When you 'assume' it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'" quotes? I mean... really? That is the kind of shit you'd hear in a middleschool. For god's sake don't give me a "I'm rubber you're glue" fucking response next, it'll break my heart. I haven't heard this sort of crap in 20 years, for gods sake please either grow up or go play wow or some bullshit. If you are unable to give additional information to a question, shut the fuck up. It makes you sound more intelligent... mature, and useful to society in general. Giving little snarky bitch answers is what leads to being a troll.
Thanks! And thanks again Shadok!
Also if someone ever runs out of arrows it's usually followed by:
Someone's bow bash mauls you!
They still have the bow, but the arrows have decayed/been used up.
Arrows just like weapons have different short descripts, depending on what arrows you get. If you already knew that, then please disregard. Glad it's friday. :)
If you READ THE LOG (which, in your lengthy dissertation on forum netiquette, you assert that you had prior to posting), you would've seen this tidbit:

(Now, the formatting for the logboard won't allow me to appropriately mark the sections which I was intending to point out as A) my response and B) the answer to your question, but I'll work with what I have...)
I've seen you posting here for years, so I know that you should know at least the basics of how logs read (and how AR combat works). You didn't see a message indicating that Asilis reloaded his quiver with arrows (during the section of log which I've reposted) so you can safely assume that if there's a message saying that Asilis's target "dodges Asilis's arrow" that there's an arrow being fired (if he were out of arrows, there wouldn't be any arrow fired which required dodging, right?).
That being said, if an arrow is fired and dodged, and the next message indicates that Asilis's "thwack" does damage, and another message follows stating that an arrow is (again) dodged, it should logically follow that arrows are being fired and the arrow(s) are causing the "thwack". As Shadok also stated, there is no bow bash message to indicate direct damage from the bow versus damage received from arrows.
My first post was intended to shortcut this lengthy one, but (as I already indicated was problematic in most cases) I "ass-u-me"d that you'd infer the rest of what I'm detailing now from the two lines I copy/pasted. Shame on me.
The second post was me being an ass, yes, but
Didn't mean to bring up bad memories from 20 years ago, but hopefully this can help you find some closure (and an explanation of why I posted such snarky, non-useful, antagonistic replies).
