The Western Promenade
A stone-laden road stretches from east to west through this grass covered
plateau. The masonry on the stonework has a simple elegance - smooth and
sharply defined at its edges, seamless in its procession across the ground
it has been laid down on. It marries the man-made with the work of mother
nature, creating a bond for both to benefit from. Valourian flags, bearing
the motif of the Holy Cross, have been raised to their greatest height,
flying proudly atop white poles.

[Exits: east west]
A Knight of the Holy Cross patrols the area diligently.

* I ended up getting away, but how am I supposed to fight against this? Prior to this rape fest I was trying the attack flee heal tactic with about as much success as this... Almost as bad as me against seladuine which gets me killed in 3 rounds not 4... Suggestions?

haha Oops, it was giving me a bad page error I didn't think it was posting. Sorry for all the posts!

Holding a whip (physical resistance + worst parry) against a fire giant = Not smart.

Go buy a rod of mind spectres (exotic- last I checked = poor parry still) which will up your damage output in combat.

I would just go for straight serious wounds or whatever without cause continual because giants are already weak to magic as is, and further yourself before you try healing. Shamans have to outlast an outdamaging warrior. Add this to Rod of mind spectres and you may see the tides turn in your favor.

You have to get rid of that non-magical weapon, with sanc it is only doing 1/4 damage against me. The reason I am ripping you apart is that I have probably the most powerful water weapon against you and you aren't not doing the same against me. I would try to land some of those mental attacks first. I was stacked against mals but wide open for mental attacks. Insomna is quite wicked, no regen sucks away your mentals, and is completely bad ass. Once insomna lands you can stick to the damage spells. Hope this helps.

Once you've made the adjustments stated above with weapons and such. And you can last longer in battle, try phantom grasp...It will lower his saves for a short time and there is no save equipment to stop the affects of phantom grasp either. Lower the saves and hit an insomnia and hysteria and you will see as you draw the fight out he will quickly become easier to handle.

This error when posting has now been fixed.

Hysteria is the worst stupid spell in the game. Use it, especially on giants. When you fumble every last stupid gyvel and purple you have... There isn't anything more retarded in the entire game. I'd never go a fight without casting hysteria.

But yeah like everyone has said, you gotta do the other stuff if you want to last long enough to cast a spell.
  7. dydric Innedus vs Oceralin -
yeah hysteria + dispell + damage = win. demonic visage might have helped with the water vuln, but I'm sure Innedus is quick enough to wield his weapon again before you can land blindness on him. Also, keep detect magic up and consider him while fighting. That way you can tell which spells to use against him.

Really? Hysteria + dispell + damage = win? With a little demonic visage... That sounds so easy! Hysteria, alright most don't protect against a shaman's mental attacks, that one I can do. DIspell is now used as a mal attack so thats out the window, same with demonic visage... Damaging spells.. lets talk about those. My flay health is lucky to get a maims on someone with sanc and thats mastered. Cause critical and harm have nasty cool downs so using them once in a battle is all I get... and cause serious is not worth practicing because its 80 mana and 3 rounds that I can't afford to get about 80 health from the person. Corzen, i've been phantom grasping the shit out of people lately, its been lowering their magic defenses but still not enough to get a cast of anything off on them... I was wearing the whip for weapon advantage, however apparently that means next to nothing in battle against a warrior... These are all great ideas in theory, the fact of the matter is they aren't working, and I've been trying them all! I have breaking equipment on also, so don't try and give me that excuse... There are serious flaws when an entire arsenal of spells can be taken out with about 4 non rare easy to obtain items.
  9. Nadrin Innedus vs Oceralin -
Cause serious doesnt cost 80 mana...
  10. arragas Innedus vs Oceralin -
no but getting cause continual off to make cause serious worth a darn creates about 80 mana cost and about a 3 round lag

I was quite successful with the cause combos on my shamans. Its not as big a deal as you make it out to be. If dhua can do it as drow, so can you. Flay health is awesome on unsances opponants. Summoning traps are good, summoning near an aggro mob can be powerful. Being able to run around and limitlessly heal is sweet... Now I want another shaman...
