Sorry about the full loot dude, but you really pissed me off the other eve. After getting completely ass raped by the knights a couple of nights before, Ocyloth was running around trying to kill me when I was dam near naked. I would switch to a 2 hander next time.

Wow. level 42? And you had like 25%~ ish after killing him. That's crazy. He was doing some crazy damage. That iceball was legit. And I'm guessing the unholy strength or whatever it is makes a big difference on his damage. I wonder.. a human would have more health then a drow. And better defenses.. and do more damage with his attacks. Had he been a human would this fight be even closer?
  2. innedus Innedus vs Ocyloth -
Him being human would have been a closer fight no doubt. I thought that this would spark some interest in dark knights, they aren't that bad when using vulns against people. My hit/dam roll was lower because I was stacked for mals, Oceralin was about and I didn't want to get blinded.
  3. holtaire Innedus vs Ocyloth -
It may have of helped him a bit if he had charmed a creature for the extra damage. Against a fire giant I would imagine the ice bandit's extra ice attacks might help, but then again the level difference between the giant and the bandit might make it so the bandit barely hits. But charm person definitely would've helped in any case.
  4. Jurlest Innedus vs Ocyloth -
it wouldnt have really mattered. any charmable mob wont be hitting through those defenses, and will barely make any dent.

the reason for dying is the chain bash. I'd wear full on heaviest armor possible, because the unholy armor rating is what gives you back the defense from bash and trip, like dodge does.

But then you have absolutely no weight capacity to carry your very important preps, like heal scrolls, wands, etc. Not with a weapon selection varied enough to get back into type or style advantage. The armor sucks all your weight if you choose the route of heaviest armor for defense from bash and dodge.

heaviest armor is also important for a drow racial legacy. Once again, though, take heaviest armor and you're doomed to the fact that even if you manage to somehow kill a person 5-8 ranks above you, you can take one or two things, a huge disadvantage to the flipside of an enemy being able to walk by, kill you from a yawn, and full loot you and sell all your stuff. So is the end of any drow class that relies on the heaviest objects in the game.

So the option is choose lighter armor, like any sane drow user would if there were only a warrior or a mage. But then you're very vulnerable to bash and trip, like any other class without dodge, so that weight you saved for these bonuses:

. To be able to carry enough preps for a drawn out fight (after all, what are preps for?)
. To be able to carry enough weapons to play the warriors game of style and the rogues game of type advantages.
. To be able to actually loot the enemy making it worth the time to fight them, and keep them from coming back, get all, unghost rage kill.

All these benefits of higher armor go out the window with chain bash. Them being higher level means you actually need that high unholy armor number, very much so to stay alive. And as you're lower level than the enemy, it means your capacity to be prepared is well under an enemy who's not only not limited by the choice of wearing heavy or light armor, but if they're a fighter class, they get a +1 to strength as a human, or more often than not have 21+ naturally from their race.

But thats just what someone gets from choosing 300/500 exp combo ;)
  5. Voltron Innedus vs Ocyloth -
I made a drow dk once. It was funner then crap. Granted I only made it to like level 30ish before a series of unfortunate events led to him being deleted. So I never experienced the gauntlet or nothin. But I know it was tough having such terrible stats to match your defenses. Crappy con and wisdom is shotty shield block. Terrible strength means yeah right you can parry. And crap hp. So you're kinda like wtf am I supposed to do? I went like 6-1 in pk fights with it. But I had to work my butt off to get them. Drows do have their upsides which made that possible though.
  6. Jurlest Innedus vs Ocyloth -
more than true. low ranks are the best places for dk, even a drow one.
