I don't get it.

I was chasing him around, he was nearly dead. I wasn't chasing very good.. so he managed to recover all the way to big nasty(yeah.. I really wasn't chasing very good..) I finally caught up and attacked him without sanc. I went from full life to dead in like a nano second.

What's not to get?

Missed the pary about sanc dropping. He did some crazy damage there!

Ilusionist? Try colour spray. blindness makes chasing easier.

lol colour spray? I've not had a lot of practice with illu's but from what I've used of colour spray it never does more then an injure and it hasn't ever blinded. It's said "you failed to blind" about 44% of the time, but it's never succeeded. And that's with a break..

Colour Spray is afflictive break dependant, hence the low damage with no aff_break item.

The fact that it blinds is an awesome side effect.

cool, must have misread. it can do up to *** DEM *** against no-sanc, if the break is high enough.

~10 is generally enough, 15 is great of course ;P

So with a little more use, and against far lower level mobs, I managed to see it do some better damage, up to mangles, but the very next time you cast it it does wounds. Seems like it's just very inconsistent. Either way though, I suppose I can believe you now. hah.
